15w40 oil in the UK?

hey guys!
quick question for you?
can i use 15w40 engine oil in my 4.0 petrol grand cherokee?
reason i ask is i have been given a 25L drum of the stuff and cannot afford to buy any more but think my ZJ is well past its due date for an oil change!!
i am in south east England so temeratures range from -5 to 30
my truck is LPG converted so believe this also means it runs hotter(?)
the oil label states "15w40 diesel plus" but the info also states it can also be used for petrol engines.

what do you guys think please?

That'd do just fine mate. I'm using 20w50 but I'm in Australia now.
Used to run a rig on 15w40 in Russian winter, that becomes a bit solid below about -15. -5 is nothing.
Just keep changing it every 5K (kms not miles), these engines are not too picky about the oil.
