130 amp V8 alternator on I6

Will the 130 amp alternator from a v8 work on the 4.0? If so is it a straight bolt in or does it require some fab work?

From the looks of it it is a straight swap. All I can find is the swap done on newer vehicles. Anyone know for sure if it will work on a 94 4.0?

Pretty much. You need the negitave harness clip from a durango tho as it says in the write up and if you want a better fit swap the pulleys on the alternator.

Rather than the durango alternator, get 160 amp that fits a '96 or so dodge caravan. Direct swap.

93 red ZJ 190k 4.0. Spent more money than I should have ...

Isn't red the only color a vehicle should be?
If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.

I cant seem to find a 160 amp alternator from a caravan at any parts store and my have to resort to the ebay link can be gotten for 150ish $ shipped to canada. I am thinking the big alternators may be a usa thing? not sure.

Got the alternator installed and it went in fine. My jeep fought me the while time but it's in. And of course it didn't fix the problem. Got a wiring issue I'm hoping is in the driver door and not farther into the car.

I ordered it from here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Dodge-C...30f08f&vxp=mtr
I'm having a problem with the power window wiring. With the window relay in I get a cycling in the electrical system. The voltage will be at 14v and drop to 12 for a few seconds then back up to 14. The relay gets hot and my power windows don't work. If I pull the relay everything is fine but obviously no power windows. The relay is new too. I had a pin in the wiring harness that connects the driver switches and the door harness get lose. It melted the plug slightly and I figured it wasn't making good contact. I ran a wire to bypass that plug but it didn't help. The grommet that goes between the door and body has been lose since I bought it 2 years ago and I can see a few wires where the insulation is cracked but it didn't look like there were any shorted wires. It got too cold and dark to work on it more tonight. I don't know if it matters but the passenger rear window has never worked either, no power to the motor. IT went down once and I had to jumper it to put it back up.

The closest part numbers I found were for 120 amp ones. I went back and looked at the ad and it was rewound for higher amperage.

Wish I had seen this a couple days ago. That's only about $10 more shipping and all than the reman 90amp alt I bought from Advance Auto. Would return it but I don't know if my alt is going to make it even another 24hours...
