10' CB antenna where to mount?

I have a giant 10' or so tall fiberglass CB antenna. Where should I mount it to get the best performance right now I have it on the bumper, is this a good spot for an antenna? I haven't hooked it up yet I need cable and an adapter so I can screw it in.

Why do you have such a tall antenna?

One of the corners of back bumper would give it the best protection, if it's that tall.

Well my parents were moving and my stedad said "Hey boy you want this antenna off the blazer?" and I replied "Hells yeah!". It looks and probably performs better than my little magnet one thats scratching up my roof.

Ya but if go offroad at all, that thing is going to get caught on trees and stuff, no fun. But the bumper is probably the best place for it if it is sturdy.

If it is a long whip it is 108" that is the optimum lench for the 1/4 wave antena for the frequency that is used on a CB. you adjust that short amount to fine tune with the SWR meter for a proper match. the short fiberglass units are just wound wire around the fiberglass stick, the ones with a round load, the load gives you your 108" lenght. The bumper mount is OK.
