1/4 mile times...

Has anyone ran their ZJ/WJ in the 1/4?

If so, post it here...and your mods.

15.5@88

-FIPK2
-Flowmaster 40 series
-Magnecore Wires

BTW...no spare, 1/2 tank of gas and the jeep was hot, it was my fourth and final run.

1/4 times? Not important to me personally...

I'm very satisfied with my stock Jeep and don't know the inportance if 1/4 times (sorry). All I really care about is the the vehicle takes me where I need (or want) to go. 1/4 times aren't important when I wis to climb a snow packed mountain.

I WILL state that my Jeep hauls *** for a two ton vehicle!

Well, mine retains stock height (actually alittle higher) and I still can drive through the mud, rain, snow, over and around things and then go to the track on the weeknd...you should try it.

I haven't run mine at a track yet but I did beat a friend of mine's 78 Trans Am by about 1/5-2 car lengths to 80 before the exhaust. The TA's best time is a 16.2 @83. So whatever that would equate to time wise...

Your Jeep hauls *** period. 1/4 times are about 15.7 for the 5.2, sub 15 for the 5.9, about 15.3 +/- for the 4.7, about 15 flat for the 4.7 HO, somewhere in the 16s for the I-6. 0-60 times are 6.6 for the 5.9, about 7.5 for the 5.2, 7.2 for the 4.7, 6.8-.9 for the 4.7 HO, about 8.4 for the I-6.

Umm, my jeep runs 15.5 and it's modded, I raced my friends stock 2000 4.7 and wailed on him by about two lengths...so I think and stock 5.2 and 4.7 should be rather close.

I've never heard of a stock 5.2 doing a sub 16 1/4, much less a I6 ZJ doing it in the 16's. I do know of a few people on another jeep forum with 5.9's that did it in 14.7-.8 when they were stock.

Jason, maybe you can help me out. I'm in a dilemma here. I want a 5.9 Limited, and I want to modify it for speed. Is it a good idea to buy a 5.9, modify it (FIPK, Exahust, MOPAR PERFORMANCE ECU, headers) and race it and run it at the track?

thanks alot..

Sean

FutureZJOwner,

I want a 5.9 as well and may end up getting one in a few months. Stock they'll run sub 15's in the 1/4 on a good day. With just bolt ons, you can get them in the low low 14's and maybe get into the 13's. The 5.9 is a very sturdy motor just like the 5.2 and I6 so you need not to worry about that.

You need a different Intake manifold for the 5.9 if you want to really open it. The 5.9 in stock form jumps out of the hole really quick, but once you get some speed up the engine kinda lays down.
