Nope, its optional.
And a side note, Posi is a GM term. WJs have Dana axles which refer to their limited slips as Trac Lok or Vari Lok.

4.0 grands have POS rear ends stock
 I think in 2004 it was a really rare option to take- I've never seen, nor heard of anyone having post 2001 (when they discontinued trac-lok in favor of vari-lok) 4.0 WJ with rear LSD
