You will never be able to fall asleep while driving due to the ride quality of leaf springs.
The rush of air and whine of tires can put me to sleep in my YJ every time.

I can drive longer and be more alert with earplugs in.

When some one offers to dig your "car" out of the snow, and you feel offended.

I know. That's what I've been doing. But that gets tiring after so long when your seat belt locks up every inch you lean forward or sideways. It takes a while to reach the lever on the door down there.

Agreed. However I was comparing it to the typical vehicle (including other Jeep products like GC) where you are totally stuck if the electronic door controller goes out.

BTW If you can't find an actual cable, perhaps a bicycle brake cable could be adapted.

ykydayjw the speed limit on a 60 MPH two-lane goes down to 45 and you think to yourself "Oh dear God - thank you."

likewise, ykydayjw you're just as happy that the major 10- to 12-lane 70 MPH highway is busy enough that traffic is generally held back to 75 MPH or below.

ykydayjw earplugs are standard fare for trips

ykydayjw when you start analyzing what weird sound your vehicle is making at stop lights ... only to find it was the car beside or behind you.

That's happened to me more than a few times

[On a related note, I was approaching busy intersection and there was a loud fart-can muffler sound but I couldn't determine which car it was... until I saw a Honda with mis-matched fenders... that was it... something about the demographic...]

Ykydayjw.. you get a ticket for speeding in a 45mph zone.. but never in a 65.

When you're setting at a stop light and check out all the other vehicles thinking about the parts you could use off them to upgrade your rig.

I've never thought about earplugs before. I used to have to slap and punch myself in the face to stay awake some days when driving my hour-long commute. Too bad earplugs would get me a ticket here.

Y.K.Y.D.A.Y.J.W.: You end up with puddles of water on the floor because your wife doesn't know about the clog-prone drain hose.

I use the vent in the summer. I don't want hot air coming in the vent.
