you see a police cruiser stuck in the dirt on the median of the highway, and you pull over too and offer to help as you always keep your recovery equipment in the back, and two more police cars show up and shut down traffic on the highway so that you can pull him out. The best part was right before I pulled him out, a guy in a big F350 drove up and said you wont be able to get him out with your little jeep, want to hook it up to me instead, and I responded "Don't worry, it can, just watch me" and then pulled him right out.
now THAT is a good way to make friends...

You know it when....

First gear works but is too low, Second gear becomes a substitute for first, Third gear doesn't work, Fourth gear seems like a waste of energy and Fifth gear will eventually get you to 55mph all equating to a 2.5 speed.

And you know you drive a YJ because the above statement seems reasonable - and functional.

when your car stalls out on the highway doing 50, and restart it and pop it in fourth gear cause fifth is non-existent and flip the middle finger to the motherfocker with a new 4-door wrangler on the next lane over!

...it won't start after 12hours of fixing but when it backfires and lights your foot and the carb on fire it works fine.

...gum, duct tape, and JB weld can fix anything that breaks.

...you tighten a ground and 3 sets of wires you have never seen before fall out of no where and lead no where.

...you always clean up and discover 1 extra bolt.

...you have a 1 liter bottle filled with all of those extra bolts sitting in your cup holder to use as ammo against really bad tailgaters.

...your rig is running off of 60% Jeep, 30% Ford/Dodge/Chevy, 5% Cadillac, and 5% Other Parts.

...the VIN on your doors, hood, and dash all match a YJ, however they are 3 different ones.

LOL! I had a very intense conversation with the dealership I bought my jeep at because they were trying to sell me a 95, and the door tag read 93.

1. When you wife and close friends call you on a hourly basis to give you updates on the local gas prices and where the cheapest gas in town is!!

2. while diving down the road you are looking at the ditches/ side streets and fields and saying to yourself " I could make that / I could get through there "

All jacked up on Mt Dew, And commin at you like a Spider Monkey !!!!

When you try to park it in the shade whenever you stop so that it will be cooler to work on it because the chances of it starting back up are 50/50.
