You know you drive a YJ when you charge your friends 5 bucks a ride, and business is booming!

yea man, i actually just fixed that to pass inspection. after cutting out most of the rust and using some rustoleum rust reformer, all i did was cut up and lay down some sheet aluminum (i think it is alum.) very light, it was for hvac ducting. then just banged some bends into it where they were needed and riveted it down. bedliner to disguise it justt a bit and itll be fine for awhile..

oh and if its on your drivers side, be very careful of the brake lines and stuff on top of your frame bad things can happen with a drill haha

If you welded it to steel it wasn't aluminum. My bet is it was galvanized.

you know you drive a yj when little 2 foot ridges on a washed out road are no problem to get up, but your friend with the fullsize truck bangs his bumper on the ground and has to drag it

Oh well I feel dumb, I read "bend" as "bead" I was wondering why "banged" came in front. Never heard that term while welding. I think it's time for nap.

Keep at it. It's fun and "easy" in theory but practice is a whole nother story. once you get the basics it gets tons easier.

I'm more embarrassed to admit I have been working a fab/machine shop for 2 1/2 years and I can run passable beads and can't TIG to save my life. Also in the six months I've had my jeep I have made anything for it.

You're too tall to trip the traffic lights. Happened to me this morning. I 'm not lifted just rolling on 31's. But it is the only light I have troubles with on my my motorcycle so it may just be poorly calibrated.

Sounds to me like a good excuse for some new bumpers, and maybe some armour.

New leafs are needed before I start throwing more steel on her. Stock springs are pretty dam flat and almost inverted.

I was travelling on a toll road in Indiana and it seemed like the tolls printed on the (automatically served) ticket were awfully expensive. But we were travelling and in no mood to argue.

When I got to go off, the toll taker took one look at the ticket and said 'this is the wrong one.. it's the truck rate'. Then she charged me the correct car charges.
