so I'm driving home and I'm almost home and someone beeps at me and says dude your leaking gas you don't have a gas cap...

I get home and look and lookie what we have here, my gas cap has vanished.

I don't know how the hell that happened. Might have left it at the 7-11 near my house getting gas this morning.

When getting gas, I always unlock the gas cap and leave my keys in the cap when I set it aside. This way, I can't leave it, because of course I need my keys to go anywhere.

If I didn't do this, I would be buying a new one every damn week.

You get tranny fluid all over a brand new shirt and to try to be helpful wash it in washing machine with some other dirty clothes sitting around only to find out later all the clothes now all smell like tranny fluid after 5 more washes in washing machine.

I am not even allowed to put my muddy clothes in the wash, I have to hose them off really good and get off all the mud. Then maybe she'll put them in it.

As for my greasy nasty stuff I take them to the coin laundry. They really hate when I walk in with a bucket of rags

Wave as you pass me :D

The problems of owning 2 Jeeps ... I never know which one to work on or which YJ gets the next mod ...

I hated my locking gas cap.. I was so glad when I lost it. now I have a nice normal non-locking cap.

my trick on not lousing this one is putting it on the seat

Replacing random parts on hunches spurred from other vehicles and peoples experiences with them is the safest bet.

When a trip to the local pick and pull is like a treasure hunt and you always leave with a handful of parts, non of which actually came from a YJ.

My guy and I play a version of "slug-bug" when we see Jeep Wranglers... We call it Jeep-poke. 4 doors don't qualify, we call those stationwagons or baby hummers. If you call-poke one of them it's an automatic shaming and a pokeback.

Yeah it's a ménage à trois, who wouldn't like a dirty 24 year old play-friend?
The husband? You couldn't wipe the grin off his face if you tried.

You know you drive a YJ when you don't always need to put a key in the ignition to start it

Obviously our lawmakers think we are pretty stupid. However a couple of times per month the gas attendant fails to put my cap on properly (don't know why, there's nothing odd about it) and I drive away spilling gas.

when the parts store has to order everything for your YJ, but has everything for all your other cars in stock.

You know you drive a YJ when you buy a fixer upper and some new basic tools cost more than the jeep.

Jeep is American for AWESOME!
