Man, my hands hurt. If I never see another wire connector it will be tooo soon. Got the ARB's hooked up and all runs great! Very impressed at how fast things get going. From completely empty it was about 25 seconds and the system had 100psi in it for the ARB's. Another 20 seconds and the rest of the system had 150 psi. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the lines coming out of the york stayed cool. I was expecting it to get hot from reading other posts. Maybe it's with the sanden compressors that get hot. Dunno.

Otherwise...the "Pffffshshhhh" of the ARB's releasing was a sound I had dreamed about since buying the jeep. It was a very satisfying moment.

I still need to get a check valve and a little filter for the inlet of the york, but other than that...I'm ready to rock! Didn't have my camera tonight...but got one phone camera shot:

That works fine, if your sprung under and no traction bar. It wouldn't work in my application though.

hope yer keeping a list of part numbers/suppliers mate?
think i'll be going down this road this year, a good use of a weekend it sounds like!
when you call around to get DOM prices, ask about getting twice as much and we can split it, if they offer a better deal.
assume 1.75" .120 wall? i will be after @100ft of it i guess....gonna redo all the tie ins, the cage and drop a body lift in there (hint hint if you are takin yours out...)

The OBA stuff is easy to get ahold of....it's just the physical running from place to place picking it all up. No one place, other than kilby's outrageous prices, has everything all in one place.

As for the DOM, I'll make some calls this week and see what I can find.

Well....tested the OBA this weekend.

Couple things.

1. Check valve is highly recommended. I don't have one because I couldn't find one locally fast enough. I had no leaks...but the air drains off through the valves of the compressor.

2. A LARGE coelessent (spelling) filter is also recommended with yorks. They blow quite a bit of the oil through the system...and it overwhelmed mine. It got kinda oily.

Other than that....I loved my new ARB's.

The "air up" ability was retarded fast. I accidentally left my air deflators on my front tires too long while I was checking other things. When I got too them....my front tires were flat. From 0 to 10 psi was 15 seconds max.

All in all I was very happy with the system. I've got to tweek it a bit with the check valve, larger filter and such....but otherwise...I think it's a great mod.

Poser pic since I'm a pic whore.

Scott, for the oil issues, you might want to try running a good quality NON Foaming oil if you're not already. I ran SAE 30 (lawn mower oil) in mine with good success. the 10w30 i tried at first just frothed like crazy. also, you can try venting the crank case. with only a single ring on the pistons, you end up with blowby pressurizing the case which just leads to more oil being forced out.

Scott.

Here is the fix for the oil in the air lines, This cuts the oil that gets into the air line, you will get a little but it is cut by 90 %.

Yeah scott, I did that to my york and a few of my freinds that i have setup their york oba, and it works great. You definatly have to get a check valve for your setup. The york compressor will bleed down your system quick and you will find that the compressor will be cycling on and off all day long if you dont get the check valve. Also you want to get yourself one of the electrical pressure swicth. Those pressure switches you find on regular compressors will work for a while, but will eventually get packed with mud and dirt and will not function properly. You can find the pressure switches on ebay and they are the ones they use on air ride suspensions.. Also you will have to pick up a 75 amp relay to go with that switch, this way you are not running the amps thru a power switch and possibly burn up the on/off switch, they are only rated for a max of 15 amps. Also what i did is run a tube into my air cleaner for the intake of the compressor, this way if iam up to my hood in water, and the compressor decides to kick in, it will not suck water into the system..
