The motor I put in has a york on it and I was planning something like this instead of pulling it out and needing to get a new serp belt.

http://www.links4jeeps.com/writeups/york/York_Donors.php There's a good start. As for rebuilding...nah. I did as zman described....plenty of suction and pressure were present on testing. And for the dimensions on the tank: http://www.viaircorp.com/91025.html

Big rig wreckers usually have them as well. I picked my York up at one and they had a pile of 'em. they'll have the tanks to go with 'em as well.
Nice thing about the rig wreckers is they seem to be cheaper because the yorks aren't a big ticket item. Another thing is that it seemed that 25% of the yorks had a serpentine belt clutch.

pulled my york 210 off an amc concorde in fantastic shape and the picnpull's set price was $25. the amc's have the more desirable connectors.

subscribed. I'm sold on OBA, just need a place to put the tank. Thinking about on the skid plate to either side if I can safely squeeze a tank in there.

looking good.
it took me a while, but i finally found another supplier for a serpentine clutch for anyone out there that doesn't want to buy off EBAY. bolted right up to my york. http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cgi-bin/ryderfp/products/srm/oid/47299/erm/product_detail.jsp I imagine any Semi parts dealer should be able to get one of these. if you're calling around local, you need an International part, OEM # 513352. that should give the MEI 5030 match. here's the MEI catalog if anyone needs something more exotic. http://www.meicorporation.com/pdfs/Clutches07.pdf looks like they've got a 6 groove single wire clutch that has an offset of 2" (5127) as opposed to the 1 5/8" that i first listed. good if you need more clearance between belt and compressor for some reason.

Nice. I like the mount idea for the air tank. I have the exact same fuel cell set up and have the area of wasted space above it. I was going to use the vertical wall between the front floor and the rear floor on the underside of the tub.. I have seen guys rig up a inline oiler to the intake of the york to give it a lube once and a while.

The York shouldn't need an inline oiler, as it's got a sealed crankcase full of oil.
Pretty good info on it here.... it's a breakdown, but it'll give you a real good idea of how it works. http://www.links4jeeps.com/writeups/york/yorkteardown/

My plan is to take the body lift back out at some point, and I just didn't feel comfortable that the traction bar wouldn't hit the tank if I mounted it underneath.
Good find on the clutch sentinal. I got lucky I guess on the ebay one. I say that......I still gotta wire it up before the fat lady sings...lol. |

Heres my tank,
[IMG] [/IMG]I didnt think of mounting it to the tailgate, its alot cleaner look and out of sight from passers by that may want to mess with it How did you attatch the legs of the tank to the door? Where mine is I was able to drill holes and put nuts on from inside the wheel well I may be a foot short on air line to move it, i really dont want to add in a splice
