?????YJ v8 fuel system?????

So I am converting my 89 YJ to v8 power. I originally had the 2.5 mated to a AX5, I am putting in a 305 and a 700r4 with an s-10 np231. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the fuel system. I am running a carburated set up, however, I have never worked on a carburated fuel system. Can I use the stock fuel pump with a fuel pressure regulator or do I need a new fuel pump? or really just any and all info or advice you can give me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

you can use the stock pump with a reg. or use an aftermarket pump. I used a inline pump when I put a 350 in my 85 buick regal and I think it was about 100 bucks. Im not sure what a regulator costs but it would probably be more. hope that helps... what are you using for motor mounts ?

At napa you can buy fuel pumps made by a company called faucet. 5-7 gpm would work good for your set up with a return at the fuel filter and no pressure reg. Should cost around $40.

Thanks I'll give it a shot, Can I use the stock fuel pickup if I do the inline unit? and if I stayed with the stock pump with a regulator would I need to run a return?

I have a carburated jeep so I don't know. Usually efi systems run much higher pressure.

You could use a Holley Blue regulator w/out a return. They are available in low or high pressure versions. You want the low-pressure versions. I do not know the part number off-hand but it's cheap. You'll need the fuel line from the reg to the carb and I suggest putting an inline filter between the two.

The in-tank pump I put in my Camaro pushes near 50 psi, I used the reg to cut that down to 8-10psi to feed the fuel side of my DP Nitrous. Works like a charm.
The reg is in the bottom right of the pic.

Thanks I appreciate it for the info. As for the motor mounts I am using 4wd weld in mounts.
