YJ for under $4K Daily Driver?

I've got a TJ and a friend just got bit by the bug, but he's looking for a YJ. He's planning on selling his car, and to leave money for lift, tires, etc. he wants to keep the Jeep price under 4K. Anyways, this will be a DD so he doesnt want anything with a ton of miles on it. Will this be possible? We don't want to go chasing something that isnt out there. BTW, I'm in Texarkana, TX in case y'all know of any actual vehicles. Really I'm just wondering if we can find a good Jeep for this cheap. What year did they start with fuel injection? That will be a must. Sorry for the dumb questions. How many miles to you guys drive your jeeps for before they need a tranny or engine replacement or something along those lines?

I just bought a YJ about 4 or 5 months ago and it was in good condition compared to some of the other Jeeps I saw. I paid 3,800 for mine but don't plan on doggin it out, it'll cost you if u do ( it did me). Make sure you check under the body on the frame for rust or better yet take somebody that has a Jeep and knows what to look for. I didn't have that and it cost me but still didn't get to bad of a ride. Good luck finding that YJ, when you do let us know what you get and what you plan to do to it. BTW the one i bought was a 94 YJ with 120K miles still good condition.

all 4cyl jeeps are/were fuel injected. i'd say look for a 91-95 with the 6 cylinder if youre going to get a lift and tires. if youre staying at 33's and under, you could get away with a 4 cylinder.
