YJ to TJ grill with lots of pics

First I drilled out all of the plug welds on the Tj grill to remove the the front grill sheet metal from the rear core support. The jeep I got the grill from was in an accident so I had to do a little metal work on it first.

Pic showing the grills side by side

Both grills seperated gor the core supports

Tj grill sitting on the YJ core support. You will notice 2 gaps on the bottom corners of the grill from the different years

I cut pieces off the YJ grill to use as patch panels.

How did you mate the fenders to the grill? By looking at the photo's of the core supports they look way different. How about some pic's from the front? Looks good in the photo.

I'm curious about the fender lining up too. They look different in the first few photos, the tj part looks almost straight where the fender meets, then the curved shape of the fender shows back up on the later photos. There must have been some fab work done there.

I left out the part about how I had to custom form the TJ grill side to follow the lines of the YJ grill. Just mark off your lines, braze the surface with a cutoff wheel and use a hammer and a doly to bend the corner

When I first turned the car on my turn signals weren't working but I think it was a rain related problem cause they work now.I had to wiggle the flasher unit relays

I think Towny meant the front grill turn signals.

I added small, round LEDs to the front fenders to match the round headlights.
3rd pic down in attached address.
