YJ soft top frame

I inquired about a 94 wrangler from an individual and it seems like a great jeep and everything but it is missing the YJ soft top hardware he said. Judging from the pics I see part of the hardware. Could anyone look at the pics and judge what is missing from it. He runs a bikini top so the header would be there. It looks like I need the spreader bar and the hardware that goes over the YJ rollbar. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What you have - isn't much. You can use a bikini and 'duster' cover on the back though.

As for what you need for a soft top... basically a full soft top. The aluminum brackets on the top of your tub had the parts for the top removed from them. Usually they are together. So, odds are, you will need everything except the windshield channel.

Great looking Jeep though. Nice buy.

Thanks. That was what I figured. I do not own it yet but if it is as nice as it looks and sounds and is available this weekend I will have it. He runs a bikini top and duster right now. The owner has the soft top fabric just not the hardware. For what its worth I would probably just look for a used hardtop since I would just need it for the winter and go topless all summer anyway.

I just had to go through all this... I ordered a kit through Quadratec that had everything. You do have the rails that go around the tub and that looks like thats about it. Another idea would be to run a Rampage soft top that requires no frame... They look good but I prefer the frame type.

Heres the frame I bought that has every thing youll need.

I know that the frame is available to purchase. I was hoping to not have to spend $250-400 to get it. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

One more question.... Will a hardtop fit over the rails that are on the tub now, or will I have to take them off?

Look for used frames. Way under the $250.

You have the fabric and all right? You can score a frame cheap if you look hard enough...

ebay and craigslist.

Do you have existing half door soft uppers? And do they have the squared or rounded rear corners, That could limit your soft top options.(squared corners limit you to stock soft top or complete kits with new framework, rounded corners open up alot more top options.)

I started thinking about that today... Looks like IF I get the jeep the cheapest and best option for now would be to find the softtop hardware
