Found a picture of a yj scrambler. Has anyone else tried to do this? I googled it and theirs hardly any info on it. What all would be involved in a project like this? http://wrambler.com/

I've always loved the scrambler but looking into a conversion it seems like entirely too much work and too much money to get it done. I think it would probably cost less and work out better to just get a scrambler and fix it up, if you can find one that is.

Stretching the frame would be the hardest part about it i would think. You may have to move a couple other body mounts around though.

The EZ way to go would be to find a Scrambler and change the front clip to a YJ.

I really like the CJ style rollbar without the front windshield attachments. I think I am going to remove mine from the Sahara as it is a stocker and only sees DD duty

I know that AEV makes a kit for the TJ but it would be neat if someone could possibly adapt it to the YJ. Also, would removing the front attachments to the roll bar make the windshield fold over while driving?

It wouldn't because of the little metal plates that connect to the dash, personally i wouldn't trust them at highway speeds.
That is a pretty sick jeep though

Are you saying the wind would actually push the windshield back at hwy speed?? I thought this is how all CJ's were??

yeah, it was how the CJs were. the thing it most of my windshield is rotted out there so the wind might be enough to punch right through the metal (rust)

With all the cryin' that I see on the YJ forums about how much things cost for their vehicles, I doubt very much that anybody would risk the R&R on such a kit! Who's gonna spend $10K or more on a vehicle that's at least 13 years old? I agree that it would be cool, but I wouldn't do it either...although I'm thinkin' a 1953 Jeep pickup cab and body might...nnnnaaaawwwwwww
