YJ Power Steering Return Line End Fitting FYI

Just wanted to add some info on the forums. If you have cracked the fitting that screws into the steeing box on the return side, it is next to impossible to find a replacement and info online is scarce. The fitting I found that works is Powercraft 39106, not an exact fit replacement, but it comes out of the steering box at 90 deg and is easily made to work. If you go to a parts store it will be listed for an '89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. O'reilly's had this part for $3.99, add a new hose and fluid and you are up and running for under $20.00.
Note: this was for an '89 Wrangler Carb'd 4.2 w/ manual trans

ditto that! I had the same issue when I replaced my steering box. All the pars stores tried to just give me a regular rubber hose. Finally found that Napa had the correct part with the correct fitting and metal line attached to it. IIRC it was about 10 bucks for the part.

I actually replaced mine with a gas line I found on the shelf at Napa. It had a long steel tube that I cut and bent to fit. It was around $5, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Fittings from a XJ steering gear also work for a 94 Wrangler.

Plain rubber line and a hose clamp work just fine. The return line has no pressure on it.

It's the end fitting I broke. You can't find that anywhere.
