YJ LED Tail light/ license plate light - parking light problem

Greetings!

So today was an eventful day I got a lot done - put in a new master clutch - washed her and took the top off and put halves on.

I then remembered I had one more issue well two too fix... it seems like the LED lights only light up when breaking and turning, and at night they need to be illuminated (keep getting pulled over by the same cop who keeps busting my balls) so to get him to stop pulling me over I ask - how to I get them to light up while the lights are on?

Also the license plate light seems to be hooked up to my rear fog (which double as reverse lights) and need to rewire that too i guess.. Oh and lets not forget about a month ago all of my gauge lights stopped working - all the fuses seem to be in good order so it must just be wiring - anyone have tips/pointers or threads I can check out?

The tail lamps need to be 3 wire style lamps. One for ground, one for brake, and one for running. If they are simple 2 wire lamps, then you need to replace them with the appropriate 3 wire lamps.

Your license plate lamp is wired into the reverse light circuit, and needs to be wired into the running lamp circuit.

What's the best way to differentiate between the reverse line and running line?
I'm kind of new to the DIY side of working on vehicles I was as experienced as your average joe until I got this bad girl and now I enjoy doing things as I deem necessary by my self. So any advice on how to differentiate between the running/brake and reverse? I think the reverse should be fairly simple since it is connected to the tranny if im not mistaken, correct?

Get yourself a volt/ohm meter or a cheaply pick lite. Turn your parking lites on and go find the hot lead. That's the one you will tie your tag lite to.
