YJ Horn Button Interchangeability

Are the early style horn buttons interchangeable with the later steering wheels?

I have a 1993 with the later style horn button but it is all screwed up and was wondering if I can use the earlier style to replace it if I find one?

Do you know if the grey on the earlier style matches the later style?

Pretty sure it does, my column was from a Cherokee and it matched. I pulled the horn button off a grand wagoneer tho n oust it on mine cuz it look like wood grain and it fits just the same.

I did this swap, liked the older style better (Had it in my '88) so I bought one off eBay and threw it in my '94

Cool thanks for the info. Do you have any problems with the horn working or is it a clean swap?

If you are looking for gray, the later Jeep gray was called Agate. If you need the color, SEM sells the exact color. Says Chrysler Agate gray on the can. You can spray it. Done it myself and turned out excellent.
