yj hard top question

Ok well first of all i just bought my 3rd jeep today, and my 2nd yj. Iv never had a hard top before and i was driving home and the top was flopping around, its bolted down around the tub, but its catching air above the windshield. Is there supposed to be a latch?

You should have a metal strip on the inside of the windshield frame. With bolts or screws attaching it to the windshield frame.

This metal strip is attached to the hardtop. And the screws go through that into the windshield frame from the inside of the jeep.

The rivet holds the metal strip to the hardtop and the hex self tapper holds it to my jeep. I have 5 in there but it was drilled for 7.

There are also some truck tool box type latches that were floating around, but they were like $20 a pop so I didn't save the link.

Sounds like someone didn't screw the top to the lip on the windshield frame
