yj fuel tank???????

I searched this and found the same question i have. There was no answer.

Will the fuel tank from a 87-90 work in a 95?

After reading a few threads i assume that it wont. Assuming 91-95 are fi and the pump is different. My tank is plastic. The one from quadratec is metal. I dont mind using metal if it can save me $100.

So.... Can I use a tank from 87-90?
Is there a way to make it work?

I'm sure there is but as you know the electric fuel pump is in the tank on the '95 model and I believe the '95's are 19 gallon while the early models are 15. I could be wrong on that but that's what I think.

So if the 87-90 tank doesn't have a fuel pump but you can always put an external one in. Then again you have to worry about if it will fit or not. I'd be inclined to getting a stock replacement but that's just me.

You don't want to use the metal tank in the 91-95. The skid and straps as well as the fuel pump mount is different. The plastic tank is really easy to find used. No dont use the metal tank.
