YJ Frame Rail Size 2"x4" 2.5"x4"?

Hey,

Hoping to pick up some steel on my way home from work but I forgot to measure before leaving home.

What size are the two main frame rails in the YJ? 2"x4" or 2.5"x4" or ...?

Thanks,
Kevin

Right you are. Grabbed some steel and just got my frame back from sandblasting. Actually was very pleasantly surprised at how solid the frame is. It's a great start, and once I reinforce it, it'll be even better.

Thanks,
Kevin

Just out of curiosity, how much are you being charged for sandblasting your frame? I'm going to get my frame blasted in a few weeks, and a local shop quoted me $250.

That's pretty much what I was quoted. I was told $115/hour and it would take 2-2 1/2 hours.

It ended up being 226$ all in including taxes and everything. I think it's worth it. Now I'm ready to weld and I can clearly see what I'm working with.

Thanks. Those are the exact reasons why I'm sending mine out for a good blasting, to have clean surfaces to work with.
