If/when I do a swap, it'll be a Chevy 5.3L V8. They're relaively cheap, plentiful, and powerful.

I had considered a V8 when I performed my 4.0l swap. I had a Chevy 350 and an AMC 304, both would have taken less time due to wiring, but I am happy with my 4.0 performance and 17 mpg.
