It must pass SMOG to qualify for the buy back program because if it won't pass SMOg you can't register or drive it legally - so they win at getting it off the road.

I hate the government of San Francisco. They put out a request for Proposals for a huge contract for IT work and sales of products, then state that you must have a brick and mortar office within the city limits and must have been certified as a gay-friendly company. When pressed about the brick and mortar building presence within city limits, (which is an Illegal qualification known as location discrimination) they said "Oh yes, you can submit a response. We will consider all respondents" wink-wink, nudge-nudge. They exclude us based upon our location and then scream bloody murder homophobe! if the foam on their starbucks fru-fru venti isn't perfect.

/end rant

hate their hypocrisy...

/ok really this time end rant

5 refineries, a steel mill, Dow chemical, chlorine plant in Livermore, all the radiation from Japan etc... But jeeps and wood fires are the number one cause of pollution in the bay area.

So I was listening to NPR on my lunch today (another story) and I came across this retelling of an event in 1974 in South America where a man was infected by a botfly. So I decided to look it up and see what it looked like.

Not for those eating dinner.

Haha there are tons of those things. I was watching a tv show where they were on like a month long hike and people had like three or four of them at a time in their back. There was even one in the last episode of bones

Edit: they used Vaseline and duct tape to suffocate them in the adventure show.

Not my arm. The original story came from a Harvard grad student in the 70's and nobody in the US had any idea what the infection was, not even Harvard docs. The video is unrelated to the original story but still quite relevant to the subject. There was a little mash up (no pun intended) of extractions in the related videos on YouTube. It didn't hinder me from eating more Chinese food out of the fridge.

28 and mostly sunny.

Supposed to rain on Saturday. And apparently it's supposed to snow in Searchlight, NV. Middle of the desert. Lol.
