Yeah, my only issue is having to regear. I'm currently 4.56 and the 4.56 geared 8.8s are few and far between! However there are plenty of 4.56 d44s laying around in the back of Rodeos.

Regearing isn't that bad. That's why you joined a club, right? There's gotta be some member that can do it for cheap.

I actually may know a few guys who could help. I guess time will tell as to whether my YJ decides it wants to be with the elites on 35s+

a well built 44 can be just as strong as the 8.8s. if it is any bit convincing my dana 44 in the rear is the only thing i havent broken lol except for the gears but that was 100% due to my retartedness and a time constraint while setting up gears

If you haven't broken it I'm convinced I would be okay! Haha. Honestly I think I wanna do it all at one time. When I get another car to dd and have the money to go ahead a link it, and throw some coil-overs under it. I'll likely be out of college before I get to that point.

This is a home made skid with plans done by Craignheather.com but looks like the website is no longer active... Its stout and works great.. If you are really interested I can get the dimensions for you

EDIT: New site with all the plans... http://www.4x4trax.net/

Anti, this was you fault!

I just bought one of those oil pan skid plates.
$17 bucks shipping almost busted the deal, though.

Although, I maybe a little late...

I've been done with my build for years, now. The heap is pretty much like I want.
Only a few things I watch for at this point in the jeep's life.
1 is armor...One can NEVER have enough armor.
Another is a truss for my 8.8. I found one from this place in Wyo, but it is $$$ and I am not sure how much i can justify such an expense on a jeep that is pretty much built.

And of coarse...a 4 link.
