I don'twant to insult you ,but looking at that much surface rust I would not offer more than 1800.If you get a couple of cans of rust converter black and spray the bumpers and chassis it would look a whole lot better.Next the holes from the other side flares don't look good. You need to cover them up .I made some side rockers from thin metal and epoxied them on.The little Jeeps with the skulls look cool ,have a set on mine too.

Is this a common problem? More to the point is it a major/expensive problem to deal with?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really don't have a clue where to start.

Thanks

Anyone else find themselves up late at night on JeepForum searching for answers or trying to help out a fellow Jeeper? This is happening all too often to me lately. I just can't get enough

Yep. I like to think of myself as here to help others but I just realized that even though I don't have a build thread, I have almost a thousand posts in "What did you do to your Yj today" thread. So apparently my jeep is getting some work done...

But you're working on compiling a build thread currently

It is sitting on 37x12.5x15 old style mtrs with at least 60% tread on them. It is still missing rear shocks, front drive line, rear traction bar, and a compressor for the ARB. I have driven it on the freeway and around town plenty of times to be confident that everything works. I just think I built it beyond what I need for the type/how often I go wheeling. Plus I don't like the way the detroit handles around town, so it just ends up sitting. I would like to have a more street friendly jeep again(should have kept it how it was). So I'm throwing around the idea of selling it to start with something else. Just wondering what you all would pay/think this is worth in its current state.
$4500. MAYBE $5000, 6000 tops if the engine checks out, and tranny feels good. AND everything else looks GREAT on it. But to me looks a little rusty. Theres work to be done. Needs some more money dumped into it.

Eh, not really. I'm just going to claim 1/33,000 of the aforementioned stickied thread. Ill just point to that when folks ask for a build thread. Besides, where would I start? I don't even remember what I've done to it anymore. I was trying to think up a list of modifications for yjotm and I couldn't even come up with that.

If you need tips and pointers, just ask. Experience teaches us all a lot over the course of time.
