My 1990 fixer upper so far

Well, I bought the thing around Labor Day as a fixer upper for 2K, found rust in the floor, fixed it. Found the brakes were bad, fixed them. Found out the outer axle covers were missing and the hub bearings needed replacing while doing the brakes, fixed that. Seats were thrashed, used the forum and found some Cavi seats, took the rear uphostery from the donor car and am having the rear seat recovered so they all match. Extended the shifter handles, put new rubbers on the brake and clutch pedals, scrubbed out the tub, painted and rubber coated the floor, found more rust under the roll bar mounts (getting that fixed now).

Nice! Looks very similar to what we just got done doing on our 1991. Fun stuff!

Really wish that last one would have stayed a thread and not been moved.........Not the one regarding my wife, I can understand that move. Kinda wanted to be able to have a start to finish, day I bought it till it was finished thread that held all of my mistakes, misfortunes, how I corrected them, things I learned, etc. All in one place.......

I don't think anyone will touch it in the build thread section

I watched a movie on cable last night -"This Means War". It was OK until the end when they destroyed a beautiful red YJ. And it did a super job in the high speed chase scene sliding sideways and not rolling over. I only hope it was a computer generated crash that made it look like it was destroyed.

I saw that! (well at least the jeep scene anyway) my gf was watching it and re-wound it on the dvr. I think they used 3 jeeps; If I can remember right I think there was something different about the paint in the different camera angles

Man JF seems so foreign to me these days. I have been so preoccupied with school, work, and the wedding I have just not had the time.

I'm still driving the jeep here and there when I can but no wheeling since August.

Lou

I have a jeep...and it is modified...I win.

Louie4 I hear you...
My jeep just became my daily driver, for a while.
No taking it to a trail and tearing it up for now anyhow.
