YJ related, but not Yj related enough for the WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY thread...

Got a mini fridge on Friday... was labelled "Trash" in the Math Dept. on campus and it was a few rooms away from my work area in the Robotics Lab so I took it. Let it settle for 30mins as I fiddled with the door and the hinges before plugging it in (seems the only issues are a bunch of surface rust and a busted lower door hinge). Set it to medium and forgot about it. Maybe 30 mins later and there was ICE forming on the little freezer compartment! No cooling issues so far!

No space in the back of the YJ so I strapped it into the passenger seat and took it home. Sure, maybe some folks frown on grabbing stuff labeled as "trash", however it's a $5 fix for something I wanted but wouldn't really have considered buying on a tight college kid budget

I think Old4X4 has the sad eyes. He did it on purpose.

Why are leaf springs so expensive>?
It's cheaper to liff my YJ (shocks included) than to put stock springs on it

Quality, I suppose. I've seen stock replacements for around $75 each new at the cheapest. I got my OMEs for ~$90ea...

You could get a full RC lift for the price of a few OEM/OME springs but you'll probably wish you hadn't... IMO

I see used stock springs on CL every now and then , usually less than $200 . The CJ guys love them for SUA . Probably doesn't help you tho . I know where there is a set in a JY around here for $75 a pack off a 94 . There is also 2 front and 1 rear Military wrap about 3" lift for same price . They also have spring plates that cover the u bolt nuts I think R/E makes them . If anyone is interested .

I use my YJ for a daily driver, so not really interested in a lift kit if it's going to make the ride rougher
If that's possible...lol

No. I was at a restaurant and it was parked outside the window of the booth in which I was dining. I couldn't stop staring at it.

Haha I hate when that happens. My gf got mad at me once because I was paying more attention to the front suspension of an xj sitting outside than I was to her.
