Like I said, Priuses are good on gas. Good for a backup DD if you have a Jeep.

I'm glad to see more people know that "low emissions" and "no emissions" are a load of crap and people need to realize that. They need to take away the diamond sticker too. Pretentious idiots.

The end product emits little to no emissions. They mean that term quite literally.

yeah, it just externalized the cost/emissions; the power plant & battery plant do all it's polluting for it.

The question is not whether the final product meets claims... but rather if the ends justify the means. If you're buying it for the purpose of being environmentally friendly--thats not the car to buy.

If you're buying it to save $ at the pump it is.

When they say low output vehicle, they mean the vehicle itself outputs less emissions out the tailpipe than a comparable gasoline powered car. Which is precisely the truth, because the electric motor is always running, the gasoline motor, not so much. Less emissions from a tailpipe standpoint, dirtier than an arsenal of Humvees by an ecological standpoint.

Like I said, the only reason you should buy a Hybrid is to save money on gas. In which case I'd rather just buy a Tesla or something fun, sporty, and all electric anyways.

I'm teaching a robotics course in the summer, hopefully some decent $ but it goes right back to paying for school not the jeep

Good news is I might get my green card this year! I can actually work after that comes through...

Best of luck to you both. I'm lucky enough to pick up random jobs here and there. Just got done refurbishing a cabin in the local mountain town two weeks ago, i had a wedding and school dance to take pictures at, and i painted the eves of a house this week. It adds up but out autozone is only 3 miles from the house.
