YJ axle swap

I have a 1993 YJ. 2.5 w a 5spd. Stock axles. 1" body and 2" shackels.
I just got my hands on a set of Dana 44s from a Jeep Wagoneer. I just need some input on swap'n them into mine. I know i need to regear. I run Brand new 31's Swamper TrXus MT. Looking at going to 4.88s and spool rear. Unlocked front for now. Any help or suggestion would be great!!

If your going to use it on that street at all i'd think twice about a spool in the back. You might want to go with a locker instead.

Just to update, im going with a ford explorer 8.8 exle. Axle is coming this week, and im building all all my spring brackets. Its got 4.10s and stock limited slip. I ended up welding my stock D35 and have not had 1 single issue with my 31's. Never broke... Just going to bigger tires so i dont trust the axle as i know they are junk. Did the tube fenders on front, and going to do comp corners on rear so i can go to a 35" tire and no more lift that i use now.

so i did my 8.8 swap today. I got lucky, i got my stock D35 out in 27mins, working alone, NO heat or blaster... Used the MORE 8.8 axle mounting kit. AMAZING. Stick welded tubes into pumpkin with nickel rod. 220v Lincoln welder for all my brackets, and spider gears. Doing stock drive shaft and got the pinion flange off the stock Ford drive shaft. Any one know the part number for the index U joint?

wish i could put pics up....

4:56's would get you back close to the factory gearing on your jeep if you only going to run 31's.
