YJ Axle Spline Count???

What Spline Count will my 95 YJ D35 Rear have?

I bought an axle for it a good while back but I can't remember the spline count..
I am thinking 27 count but I am not sure..

Thanks for the help!!

Not without more work. I'm not sure on the details, but I know that you would have to install a locker to accept 30 spline shafts. The Superior Super 35 kit comes with a Detriot, and you may be able to get an OX/ARB in 30 spline. There are no 30 spline dana 35 spider gears that i know of.

Someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in.

Ok... well I will just hang with my good ole D35 27 Spline setup then... Cheaper...

I Will upgrade to the Ford 8.8 someday.. But they done come in 3.07 gears so I will then have to change the front gears as well... So it will have to wait...

Thank you very much for the info..

8.8's do come in 3.08 gearing and you're right: the only upgrade from a 27 spline is to a 31 spline.

8.8s definitely come with 3.08 gears, the first 8.8 swap I did was on a '93 Sahara using a 3.08 rearend out of a '96 Explorer.

hmmmm not sure about that. my 8.8 is from a 2000 explorer and the axle tag, r&p, and spin test all tell me it's 4.10:1 with LSD. there's other options out there.
