Yj alternator ticking

Hey guys, newbie here
Have had my 95 yj for 11 years 128 k, 4.0, and have never had to join the forum because shes solid and simple....getting a strong ticking noise straight out of the alternator and wondering if i can limp her around until pay day next week..have stethascoped valve cover, timiing chain and oil pan and the noise is straight out of the alternator. I have not noticed any lack of power lately can i take her camping for my birthday weekend or is there a risk of it frying completly?

That is a first for me. I have never heard of a alternator ticking. Its hard to say what you should do. If you are sure it's the alternator and it's ticking I would bring some tools with me just in case you need to replace it while you are out. A good set of jumper cables and a socket set. I don't think you will fry anything electrical. The alternator fails with no power out 99.9% of the time. Welcome to the forum.
