Yj alignment impossible?

i went to an alignment shop and they said they couldn't do it because of worn linkage. I am in the process of buying parts but hava a question before i drop the cash. i cant find what exactly i need to order. i currently have parts 12, 13 and 16 in my garage (see 1987-1995 Jeep® Wrangler YJ Steering Replacement Parts: Jeep® Steering Column Shaft, Jeep® Column Bearing Kit, Jeep® Pitman Arm, Jeep® Power Steering Pump, Jeep® Tie Rod Assembly, Jeep® Steering Knuckle, Jeep® Ball Joint Kit. - Quadratec) <diagram i am referring to and need to know if i need to get a whole new drag link or if it possible to replace the passenger side end link or do i have to buy a new drag link.

The only alignment you can do on a YJ is toe-in. A monkey with a piece of string and a tape measure can do that, I wouldn't pay good money at a shop.

#14 has the rod end built in, so you have to replace the whole piece.

you can get ends for the drag link and for one tie rod end, the other end is the full tube replacement (looks like 14). not overly expensive to replace it all yourself.

keep in mind that aside from toe-in there is nothing to align on a YJ, unless you have adjustable ball joints.

Save some $$ and set the toe yourself, lot's of write ups on it here.

Your drag link is only a tube with threaded ends so you would just need the two tie rod ends (12 & 13). You have the drivers side tie rod end (16) so now you'll need 14 which is the rest of the assembly. Might have been a little cheaper to get the whole assembly (16a). Have you checked your wheel bearing units?

also you have to adjust the drag link, not always but sometimes, although its best not to mess with it, unless your replacing the rods too
