First you need to know if it was a factory a/c or an American Air A/C the ones the dealers but on. Bad thing is all have been discontinued. Just call friend that works in Parts at dodge. He can not even order them. I think it would be best to go to A/C shop and have them replace the hoses.
Do you still have the old hoses. Will new i-rings fix them.
Crouse, YJ did not have factory a/c, they were all done at the dealer. I do agree though that your best bet is to go to an automotive a/c shop or even a Thermo King if you have one nearby. They should be able to make new hoses for you as long as you have the old ones to match up.
You are correct they didn't leave factory with them. They where install at dealers. But for some reason they offered two ac jeep ac and American air. I don't understand. You got to remember back in 80s everything left the factory the same beside engine and granny's and they added a lot of stuff at the dealership. Made for cheaper production.
Dont know what size tires you are going to run but assuming you have a stock Dana 35 from an 88 then it shuld be a non c-clip axle. Alloy USA is the only one I know of making 27 spline chromoly axles for the non c-clip. Would be a worthwhile upgrade if you are running anything larger than stock tires, especially with a locker!
Finally got the AC overhauled in my 88YJ.
I highly recommend JeepAir.com in Ocala FL. They rebuilt the suction and pressure hoses and supplied a new compressor. Trish in customer service was extremely helpful.
