www.jeepair.com.

What hoses do you need. A lot of the time they don't sell the whole kit so you have to buy hoses separately.

That will help you find the new one if you want used cross reference off that site and find on amazon or ebay

Yj ac

I need the suction and discharge hoses. I checked Jeepair.com and they do not have hoses for '88 4.2 liter. I believe the AC was installed by the Jeep dealer when I bought it new in 1988.

I had to go to a local hotrod ac place to get mine done.

I don't feel like working on anything, at this time.

First you need to know if it was a factory a/c or an American Air A/C the ones the dealers but on. Bad thing is all have been discontinued. Just call friend that works in Parts at dodge. He can not even order them. I think it would be best to go to A/C shop and have them replace the hoses.

Do you still have the old hoses. Will new i-rings fix them.

Crouse, YJ did not have factory a/c, they were all done at the dealer. I do agree though that your best bet is to go to an automotive a/c shop or even a Thermo King if you have one nearby. They should be able to make new hoses for you as long as you have the old ones to match up.

First jeep did make a factory ac unit for all yj,

Also jeep had a deal with American Air for installing their a/c in some jeeps at dealers also.

They both where installed at dealers but different ac units.

And the factory has three different types of hoses.

I am currently looking at a parts computer in a Dodge Dealership.

I apologize, for years I have been told that YJ's never left the factory with a/c that it was a dealer installed option. If this is wrong then many, many sources need to be updated.

You are correct they didn't leave factory with them. They where install at dealers. But for some reason they offered two ac jeep ac and American air. I don't understand. You got to remember back in 80s everything left the factory the same beside engine and granny's and they added a lot of stuff at the dealership. Made for cheaper production.

Well that's what I said originally. I said YJ did not have factory a/c they were done at the dealer... That was not meant to imply that Jeep did not manufacture a/c as I know my XJ's had it..

It's also on my build sheet for 95, I was told that was so the dealership would know to install an a/c system upon arrival.

I would recommend going to your local a/c shop and having them made. If anyone is looking for one I have have the underdash unit for sale from my 88 YJ. Worked well when pulled.

Dont know what size tires you are going to run but assuming you have a stock Dana 35 from an 88 then it shuld be a non c-clip axle. Alloy USA is the only one I know of making 27 spline chromoly axles for the non c-clip. Would be a worthwhile upgrade if you are running anything larger than stock tires, especially with a locker!

88 YJ AC hoses

Finally got the AC overhauled in my 88YJ.
I highly recommend JeepAir.com in Ocala FL. They rebuilt the suction and pressure hoses and supplied a new compressor. Trish in customer service was extremely helpful.
