Go with Brown Dog! Have bought brakets and mounts for both the jeeps I've owned. Best quality out there in my opinion. I personally was blown away with the heavy duty quality. All of thier products rock and you can't go wrong. Best customer service ever as well. Keep on rockin Brown Dog.

I had the front yoke of the rear ds hitting the floor. Replacing the motor mounts with Brown Dog mounts I found the culprit. The broken motor mount bracket.

That would do it. The cradle ships tomorrow, so you'll have it Wednesday.

Thanks very much.

Question though, why not eliminate this with the build of the bracket?

Because guys who have a cradle break want to buy a direct replacement, rather than a whole lot more for more money. To my knowledge, we are the only one who makes them since Chrysler quit. It is not a big seller, but when you need it, you need it. Our parts were all designed to fit into the original system design.

Yah, I can see that.

Did the recommended bracket removal. It was tight around the 2 studs. Little help from a pry bar, it broke away. Added anti seize and removed some of the aluminum-steel corrosion in the bracket. I did have to use all 6 washers to center the mount in the bracket. The adapter plate is not square to the motor mount but is square to the frame mount. It's all together and running. No banging of the rear ds to the floor.
Thanks.

The misalignment of the mount to the cradle usually indicates a problem with the transmission mount. Likely the transmission mount is too far forward (or broken).

Well.................ditto here. I bought a 95 YJ that was hit on the passenger side and had a bent frame. So, I purchased a frame from the wrecking yard, it was sold as a 95 YJ frame. I started the swap pulled the frontend off then the motor, tranny and tub. That's when I noticed the passenger side motor mount tower was different then the frame I just purchased. The motor mount tower had an extra block on it. Well I ran the VIN and found out the frame was off a 89 YJ. I called the wrecking yard I told the guy that the frame was not a 95 but a 89 and they don't fit. He apologized saying he thought a all YJ frames were the same and was going to do some research on it and get back with me. The motor mounts appear to be the same on a 89 and a 95 as I have the old ones the came on the 89 frame. My question is the only thing that needs replaced is the passenger side engine bracket (the bracket the bolts to the engine block)? I figure if the driver's side bracket should be the same as the 95. If it is any shorter or longer it is going to misalign the tranny to differential. So my thinking, the only thing that needs to be changed is the passenger side bracket. I'm I correct?

Advance auto sells complete motor mounts for $20 each.
They actually had 1 in stock when I did mine got thè other the next day.
They're not brown dogs but work in a pinch and are identical to OEM's.
