I have sort of a weird problem. I got wrangler few weeks ago, i was told that it randomly stalls while driving. Once it dies, just need to start it again and drives fine afterwards. So i drove it almost 1000 miles with no problems (cold winter), until today. Today was first of the warmer days (approx 65), i left the office and 6 miles later i started to feel loss of power, pressing gas pedal didn't do anything, as if i was out of gas (still over half a tank), car came to a stop and died, so i started it immediately (no problems) made couple yards, dies. This time i let it sit for 5 min, started it again and drove fine until i got home, additional 4 miles.
Previous owner disclosed that saying that he went to couple shops and nobody could figure out the issue. I did make sure battery wires are properly attached - they are.
Does outside temperature has something to do with it? During cold weather i drove 100 miles straight without similar issue.
Here is an interesting observation: Windshield washer pump works only if engine is warm or outside temp is warm (i got proper fluid in, so freezing is out of question). Car radio resets itself in cold weather after ignition is off, but when warmer it remembers the presets. Does this have anything in common?
Your engine idle is way too high. You have a vacuum leak somewhere. The easiest way to find it is spray around the engine compartment and the intake manifold with carb cleaner or listen for a whistle for the vacuum leak. Unfortunately it is probably not the reason for the stall.

Stall is usually caused by the crank position sesnor or the coil. Start with the crank sensor.
one small bit of info i just remembered: When engine did stall, i tried to start it back up while still in motion by engaging 3rd or 2nd gear and releasing clutch (ignition was still on), but it wouldnt start. I had to turn off ignition then on again to get it started...
I did replaced crank sensor, also changed hoses reducing some vacum leaks, got idle down to 1100-1200rpm. Everything was great for some time (but weather was colder again), last couple of days become warmer, stalling issue is back. Crank sensor definatelly improved some things, but it wasn't a cause of my stalling problem. Any other suggestions are welcome. WHat else should i look at?
I have a 95 wrangler and had the same problem. Everyone said it was the crank sensor. Talked to a mechanic friend of mine and he said the sensor was about 59.00 his cost and he would put it in for a 6 pack. I was a week from payday and told him to wait and we would do it when I got paid. Meanwhile I figured I would crawl around under my Jeep and see what I could see. There is a flatted oval module. It is about an inch thick and 6 inches long. It had come loose from the lower driver's side firewall and was swaying while I was driving which was obviously pissing off my computer. I hung it back and the firewall using the tab that it was attached to and a piece of Gorilla Tape. It has been a year and the problem hasn't reoccurred.
After many weeks, turned out it was O2 sensor. This fixed the problem although not immediately. Still died few times but week after sensor swap problem stopped. Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions.
