from xj to yj?

I was wondering if a np231 transfer case from an xj will work in a yj?

are the splines the same?

just wondering if it will work.

Is the YJ a 4.2 or a 2.5? If its a 4.2 then it should work, but if its a 2.5L then you have a 21 spline xfer case that needs to fit a 23 spline output shaft from the tranny.
