Yea, there is a total of 5 mounting points, two will be in the original firewall in the middle. Then another 2 that are under the hose inlet/outlets, then the 5th by the blower, those will mount to my new piece.

I am going to design a new battery tray too, I would like to see if I can still fit dual batteries, I would like some extra cranking amps for the Cummins...

Just a quick update to let you guys know I have not given up on this project. I have finally aquired all the wiring I want, and torn down all the loom and hand washed all the wires and connectors. I'm a little OCD haha.

I need to source a few connectors for my fuse box, but I have 3 spots for relays in the stock power distribution box, and a few more fuses.

I am also working on a new dashboard design as well which is going to require new wiring, so I am going to model it all with Inventor, it has a pretty cool wiring harness modeler I want to try out.

My hope is to build all my harnesses outside of the jeep (in the warmth of my apartment) including reverse lights, fog lights, and connectors for future add ons like compressors, ect. and then it should just be plug and play!

Its getting there. This HVAC swap became part of a much larger project haha.

It would be nice to link the two together. Since they are now tied together.

Finall got my new cover made. I am going to try to get our welder at work to weld it up.

It is not perfect, but fits! Just needs a little trim in some spots.

made a little progress today. borrow my dads welder next weekend, so I ought to be able to get this thing welded in soon.

The wiring is bogging me down. I do too much thinking as work, it is hard to focus on wiring during the weekend, I would rather wrench...

either way, it is getting there..

yes sir, I have not really been updating....because nobody seems to be replying. But I have the whole firewall finished and painted, been sloooolwy pluggin away at wiring, I at least have the harness on the jeep, and not just on the floor now.

I also still need to work out some intake ducting, which just may end up being dryer exhaust tubing from home depot.

I still need a few more components on the engine bay side, like a compressor, condensor...fan. Money has been tight, so I have been working with what I got right now haha.

I'll try to post pics tonight

If you don't find anything else like at a junk yard, I think you might be happier with (NEW of course) a piece of RV wastewater (sewage) dump hose. Maybe not AS flexible as dryer hose, but a million times more durable

Good luck

heres some quick pictures! The wiring ones are just showing how to pull apart the bulkhead connector to run some new wire through it.

Don't fret. I didn't see it until this morning. It's looking good though and the body work looks great to me. I know I'll be tackling some body work in the future and I'm excited yet dreading it.

Are you going to put an auxiliary fan in front of the condenser? .

I follow threads but don't always put in a remark. It is more difficult now that I have to use the cell at work. Keep posting the info. You are definitely doing a unique mod!

Haha no worries.

I am definitely going to need an aux. fan as I currently have an intercooler for the 4BT where the condenser would normally be, so I am going to have to creatively mount it with its own fan somewhere. Glad you mentioned it though, I totally forgot about it, and I need to include wiring for it in the harness I am building.

The other half of this project behind the scenes is building the harness. I originally had a harness from an 89 carb'ed YJ. I decided to instead buy a complete engine and body harness from a 95 YJ to utilize the power distribution block. I am currently re-assigning relays that I no longer need, like ABS, and fuel pump, to things like electric fan/s, lights, vacuum pump, OBA, and leaving some extras for whatever I might add. The good thing is, the actual pin connectors from the old harness work with the new one, and all the wire colors are different, so I can steal wires, pins already attached and run them through open holes on the bulkhead, and keep the wiring colors consitant. Very time consuming, but I am hoping to have a "looks like stock" wiring harness, and my own schematic for troubleshooting if stuff ever gets messed up. But, its taking a while to get a cherokee HVAC wiring harness, YJ body harness, and 4BT to all work together, and look stock.

Also, the older tail light wiring harness works great to run aux. rear trail lights, so now I have 2 YJ rear tail light harness running next to each other, one for the tail lights, one for the trail lights, again works best if you use harnesses from different years (carb'ed and FI) so you do not have similar wire colors.

All that said, Eff wiring, and Eff body work haha. Can't wait to swap my axles and actually use a wrench.
