Wrecked My Jeep !!!!

well the good news was no one was hurt and minor damage.......

the 88 jeep wrangler has been better though
although the push bar i had kept the body damage to zero
evidenlty wranglers love to shake bolts lose

LIKE THE ENGINE MOUNTS (Please check them, readers. All of them)

main problem: engine is sitting 2-3 inchs too far forward
solution: replace broken mounts on engine and tranny

i've jacked up the engine.....dropped the skid plate and taken off the tranny mount
(waiting for the replacement)
now to the engine

Drivers side:

i cant get the bolts out to replace the bracket that joins the engine piece to the frame piece (shaped like a "U")
they seem to be an odd size between 5/8 and 9/16 (does anyone know the size for the the factory bolts)

also the bolt that goes throught the bracket/bushing and supports the engine seems to be an old size (between 3/4 and 11/16)
does anyone know the sizes!!!!!!!!

also any suggestions

the mounts help the engine more or less at the same hieght
and just barely.......when i jacked it i saw that only one bolt out of four was intact on the drivers side

the problem is that the mounts let the engine move forward

I wanna say that the bolts were like a 15 MM or close to that. I tried for a while to figure it out swapping back and forth between metric and standard.

Glad no one was hurt. Show some pics of the dammage

Just replaced mine last week. It is an 18MM or 23/32". Whichever you prefer. Either way, a complete PITA to find a wrench that works well in there. I don't know if your engine has it or not, but my Pass side mount also had a little foot plate that bolts to the bottom of the rubber mount and attaches to the frame mount. Check to make sure this isn't broken, as mine was and was missing 3/4's of the mount. Good luck and I hope this helps!
