There is lots of great advice on this forum. For example, a screw driver is your friend when purchasing a YJ. Poke around on the frame with the screw driver. Is it surface rust? They all get that. Is it RUST-RUST? You want to ascertain is the frame intact. Special areas requiring special attention: Around the front horns and steering box. The long rails from the rear spring mount to the fenderwell. The rear of the jeep around the gas tank. The rear bumper mount area. Poke em, prod em, then make a decision.
Rub the hx of this vehicle. Was it a northern salt area jeep? If the frame is toast, EL PASO.\
