I think a stainless steel kit is a perfectly good investment if half your s*** is broken and rusted already. I didn't put the kit I have on though... came with the deal.

1. 3" body lift, does more harm than good
2. Add a leafs
3. Trac bars or relocation brackets
4. Anything to get more out of a 2.5L (including "cold air intake" and throttle body spacer"
5. Anything to do with the D-35

I'll second on tube bumpers/steps, doubly so if they're chrome. My ride came with chrome bumpers and ONE chrome step. I posted the bumpers for sale on craigslist for CHEAP. Not a single phone call.

Waiting on my new bumpers to ship now (Smitty SRC classics)....

A Bra.

First thing I did when I bought my Jeep was remove that crap.

This is the closest pic to what it actually looks like now.

My posi-lok wasn't a worthless mod. It replaced that stupid vacuum actuator that wouldn't work when I needed it to, plus now I have the option of 2lo. Which I like a lot, especially where I live in the mountains.

I'd say a worthless mod on a YJ would be round headlights

I would say the amount of time reading, working on, and money spent, the posi lock was a pretty worthless mod. I also didn't like when the handle pulled clean off while trying to engage 4WD. It's a good thing vice grips.

I would have much rather spent the time installing TJ shafts or fixing the vacuum motor.`

Well I got the posi for free and it hasn't let me down yet. It was only like, a 30 minute install and extremely simple and straight forward.

Couchrider I looked through your build thread and saw your posi, it looks way different than mine. I have the actual brand called Posi-lok and it hasn't ever let me down if you want to give it a try instead of what you have. Mine has a big red button that you push in and pull on to engage the axle, its a lot more beefy than the T handle that is on the end of yours.

If your jeep came with tube bumpers I can see no reason to replace them. Changing from a round tube to a rectangular tube just because one "looks cool" might be the biggest poser mod ever.
