Worth it?

A 1991 YJ...4.0 six, AX15. Hardtop, doors usable.

A bucket of rust. Frame broken right behind the right front spring, rear shackle.

I want:

Hardtop (fair shape, no obvious cracks);

Full doors (rust on passenger's window frame, but door bottoms are intact, outside skin dented;

Blower motor and heater controls;

Steering column - mine is peeled and this one's got a tilt column.

It starts and runs.

$1200 the guy wants - a half-fast used car dealer, got a little former gas station and about eight cars for sale.

Worth it?

I would say so... especially if you were going to pay for that stuff anyway.... the rest you can part-out and bring down your overall cost.

That's the problem. I don't have a shop and I've had problems getting registered on Ebay. The motor doesn't interest me, with 110,000 miles on a rusty chassis (meaning that it probably has been neglected of late).

Once I get what I want, I'm probably going to have to dispose of the thing all of one piece. Maybe put my peeled column into the hulk.

Change anything?

None of us can really make the call without seeing it but it does sound like a good price. 91 is fuel injected right? If you take what you want you should be able to sell the motor and injection for five hundred or so, six for the AX-15 swap and transfer case, a couple hundred for misc parts then junk the rest or give it to someone for whatever parts are left.
Just figure eBay out, it isn't hard. And you don't need a shop, your're just taking it apart, it doesn't have to go back together feel free to cut off bolts and what not.

You could just throw your column back in and eBay it too probably breaking almost even.
