Worked on the money pit today...

I got off work a little early today and actually was able to work on project 'Venomous Maximus' aka the 'Money Pit'....I've owned it for about a week now. It has 92,000 miles H.O. 4.0L automatic and it has A/C?
I changed all the hoses & flushed cooling system also removed all the fender flare / running board plastics since they were all sun damaged and ugly... Then I washed it so now you can see all the dents and dings.... I snapped a few photos so y'all can check it out......
A 1992, it has a tan hard top and full steel doors, black interior with grayish seats... It also has 1999 model wheels 30X9.50 tires and roof rack & safari doors well that's what the PO called them.
Sorry for CrapOla pictures..

Nice. Those are safari doors. You can get saddle bag type attachments to keep stuff in. You gonna keep or sell the rack? Do you know what brand it is?

Thanks,
The roof rack is awesome and will be using it alot. It'll work out great because I do a lot kayak fishing , camping & hunting. I do not know the brand name of the rack but it is sturdy...
The safari door pockets sure would come in handy to secure things from blowing out on the highway...

You can find them on quadratec or 4 wheel parts. If you were closer I'd offer to trade my soft half doors for your tubes. Shipping wouldn't make it worth it though lol

Yeah the tube doors seem pretty unnecessary right now, other than creating an armrest and a false sense of safety when my 4yr old daughter is riding shot gun...lol...
I believe the tube doors are Olympic.
Oh it has an hard bikini top also, its transparent but tinted..

Even the full steel doors are a false sense of security. According to Jeep the "top and doors are only meant to protect the passengers from the elements". The half soft doors aren't bad but are definitely not protecting the passengers from squat.

I've never seen a hard bikini top before. Can you post a picture?

There is a recent thread floating around that may have some info you guys would like. It's probably a few weeks old right now. I want a roof rack for camping and whatnot. Problem is I'm too cheap to buy them new and when I find good deals on them I don't have extra cash.

First time you hit rain or mud you will wish you had the flairs back on. They do fade to a ugly color but a coat of black paint will fix that problem for a long time.

In the mean time have your daughter wear safety glasses while you are driving the Jeep and keep her head in.

I ran flawless for a while through rain and mud and all that. With half doors. And I have 12.5s and he only has 9.5s. It's really not that bad.

Very clean Jeep. Congrats and welcome!

cheers
