How do you know the ignition switch was burned out? Do you get dash lights when you roll the key into the 'on' position? When trying to start, does the starter crank? Does it just click then cut out? Need more info--if your key does roll into the 'on' position and the dash lights come on, pull your engine codes and see if anything shows up.

In your PDC fuse box under the hood you have a starter relay. With the Jeep out of gear remove the relay and use a short piece of wire and jumper pimns 30 to 87 in the relay socket. It should turn over the starter. Post back what it does.
