The YJ wipers don't go all the way down. They stop at around 45 degrees. If your wipers are stopping there then they are working as designed.

There is a kit you can buy on ebay callled WipeBoy. It comes with everything you need to make your wipers park horizontally along the bottom of the windshield.
You get used to them being at a 45 tho'. I don't even notice anymore.

>>Click here for a link to the eBay WipeBoy kit<<<

Where are the wipers parking now? You say they used to go all the way down, by that description I am assuming you mean they used to park horizontal at the edge of the window, but that is not how the factory wipers work on the YJ. Any pics of where they are stopping?

YJ windshield wipers are designed to stop at about a 45* angle from horizontal on the passenger side. Wipeboy (as previously posted) makes a kit that makes their resting position flat like cars (TJ's, JK's, etc)

I think the OP knows they are not suppose to go all the way down horizontal, because he said that they used to go down to where they were suppose to, but don't anymore. And if he thinks they are suppose to go all they way down, well then I would bust on him too.

I'd say maybe check the wiper motor itself or the linkage.

Thanks guys,No my wipers used to go to pretty close to 45% but now they seam to stop about 65-70% so I'm going to go with the "wipeboy" but I think the intermittent box is what is screwing me up???

haha i'm glad that you know the wipers are supposed to be at 45, whew! that's interesting that they're stopping at 70 though. i would say maybe the linkage, if the motor can move em', there is no reason it can't move it the rest of the way unless something in the linkage is messed up. just my thoughts

You can remove the box the plug in is the same as what is on the wiring .This is a good test now they will not doing anything in the intermittent positions the rest will be fine. By the way it's behind the dash by the steering column.

My '91 has intermittent wipers & my intermittent relay box is missing.

As a result, turning the wipers "off" will result in them stopping wherever they happen to be. When this happens, using the momentary "Mist" position just 1 time will cause them to park where they are supposed to park.

Max
I thought that they all did that?

I love stopping mine when they're all the way to the left sometimes just to mess with people.
