Windshield Frame Replacement

I've got an 87 Wrangler. I have to replace the windshield frame because the old one has a large just hole on the passenger side. I bought the frame already and its really nice. But i'm running into a problem. I don't know what to do to have the VIN tag transferred. Has anyone had to deal with this before? I live in Michigan if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Just remove or drill the rivets holding the vin tag in place and use the screws for the wiper motor to reattach it to the new frame. I did the same thing 6 months ago.

I live in Michigan as well, I did exactly as csmit said. No big deal.
