Winch questions

I'm looking at getting a 9000lb winch by Superwinch. Specifically something like http://www.amazon.com/Superwinch-090...=2DT5Z13EWIZXE.

First, is the brand worth anything? I'm less than thrilled at spending a grand or more for something I dont intend to use much...but I want it to be worth something when I do have to use it.

Second, what's the benefit to the integrated solenoid. It seems like the difference between the EP 9.0 and EPi 9.0 is just that they moved the solenoid from the right side of the winch to the top and added $12 to the price.

I'm having a hard time figuring out why they're charging $175 more for an inferior fairlead http://www.winchdepot.com/PDT57602.aspx.

Weird.

Yeah, the price is one of the things I really like about it lol. Its in the same ballpark as the M8000 which is plenty of winch for the money already, but I couldnt find a whole lot on Superwinch as far as reviews and opinions.

I'm thinking the remote solenoid would be best, better protection from weather and whatnot if its under the hood somewhere.

The smittybuilt is what I went with. Had to try it out last weekend, and imagine that it pulled me right up that hill. I just figured I'd rather put my money towards other things than something that sits 99% of the time. I guess I'm not like others on here that have way to much money to be buying a name. Maybe I should start letting my kids pay thier own insurance......

I cursed myself! high centered on a boulder today, pulled my line and hooked up the control and nothing but the solenoid clicking. My free champion winch has seen its last trip.

Time for my warn
