will this np231 work in my yj

i have a 1989 yj with 6cly and auto tany and i found this np231 j that the guy says is out of a 2002 liberty will it work in mine other than the from drive shaft yoke needing to be changed

it should work but first your gonna have to change the output shafts to the yj ones. i have and xj np231 in my yj and thats what i had to do,

I have a 231 J on my '95, so I would assume so. I have a manual tranny, so I'm not sure if the auto would be any different. Hopefully someone here with a little more experience can chime in soon.

You should be fine as long as they both the same spline count. Mechanically it should bolt in.
