I just grabbed an ECU out of a '92 XJ w/4.0 and 5 speed.
Still no start.
Now it is possible for this ECU to be bad as well, but it was worth a try.
The ground from the battery to the block is good.
The coil only has the harness plug and wire to the rotor.
Is there a ground wire for it?
Anybody have any ideas?

Are you still getting the fault? Start with the basics. You are dealing with fuel, air, spark, and timing. Pull injector and see its putting fuel in. Pull a plug and look for spark, throw a timing light on it and see what the timing is looking like. Are you sure the vacuum lines and connectors for the sensors on the manifold by the breather are hooked back up after your mod?

I know this is an old thread but if you are sure you are getting spark, I would still test the coil because it might be weak.
