Why use daystar BL?

I see a lot of recommendations for daystar 1" bodylifts. They seem overpriced. Why use them over other less expensive kits like performance accessories?

And really..... Don't hockey pucks work just fine for a 1" BL? Is there anything involved with a kit other than the spacers and longer bolts and washers?

for starters you will be replaceing the old worn out rubber body mounts with new polyurathane mounts that are
1" taller than stock all bolts and hardware inc, and you can get them in red or black
with pucks you are stacking new parts on top of old dry rotted rubber mounts , yes you get new hardware with this kit too , but in my opinion these kit's look cheap , and only come in black

Well, the daystar kit replaces the whole body mount. Not just a spacer. On most yjs the body mounts are rotted and weathered to a point that they should be replaced anyway. Instead of buying the body lift and new body mounts seperate, you can just get the Daystar kit and know that every thing is new, with good body mounts and a quality body lift.

Bottom line, get the Daystar. Kills two birds with one stone.

I agree completely.

FWIW, avoid the red poly ones. Mine turned orange in about 12 months. The black ones on my wife's '93 YJ still look like new.

Good point about replacing the original mounts! Daystar it is.

I'll be getting black for sure! I never really understood why anyone would want red.

Nope, but the YJ kit does come with the drop down bracket needed for a TJ T-case shifter that you can sell/trade to your TJ friend that bought the cheap a$$ BL kit.

I haven't been cutting corners on this project, so there's no sense in buying a cheap BL. About the puck idea.... If u would have chose to go that route I would have used a hole saw to make the spacers match the body mounts. I think they would have blended right in

For reasons others stated its simply the highest quality BL made. If they had a 2" BL id rock it! <insert flip off smiley here>

Your limited slip differential sucks.

I have installed a few of those and I was always impressed with the "completeness" of the kit, it includes everything to change out the whole thing.

Kinda wish I had gone that route instead of my MORE aluminum system.

x 10, BUT the kit does not include the inner metal sleeves. That's the only part you re use.
